Who you are dealing with
This site and the RunBoth software are published by Clouthier Simulation Labs, a sole proprietorship owned by Kyle Clouthier, in Ontario, Canada. It is not an incorporated company. Contact is hello@runboth.dev.
The software
RunBoth is licensed under the Functional Source License, FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0. In short: you may use, copy, modify and redistribute it for any purpose except building a product that competes with it, and each release converts to the plain Apache 2.0 licence two years after it is published. The licence text in the repository is what governs, not this summary.
What the tool does and does not claim
This one matters more than the rest of this page, because it is the whole design of the product. RunBoth reports differences it observed by executing your code on generated inputs. It is evidence, not proof.
- A
changedverdict means a difference was observed, and the exact call that produced it is given to you so you can reproduce it yourself. - A
no_change at budget Nverdict means N generated inputs found no difference. It does not mean there is none. Sampling cannot prove the absence of a difference. - An
abstainedverdict means the check could not be made, and why. It is never a pass.
The tool will never tell you that your code is safe or correct, and you should not treat it as having done so. Deciding which version of a function is the right one stays with you.
No warranty
The software and this site are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from using them, including any decision made on the basis of a verdict the tool produced. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Paid work
A drift audit is separate from the software and is agreed in writing before it starts, with the scope, the price and what you receive set out at that point. Those terms govern that work.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. There is no notification list for this page.
